After a day of many adjustments to the rig, halyards and trim lines, we headed out into the sunset. Only main and jib, no gennaker.
The first impressions are great: - forgiving behaviour - Dmitry did all harbour manoeuvres without engine - forgiving - 35 degrees of heel and still good response - rig and sails fit perfectly - well balanced and responsive
- unbelievable stiff - walking on deck when heeled - best feeling ever on a boat
The ELVSTRØM Sails fit perfectly. Nice shape. Further experiences: - fittings at the right place - all trimm adjustments are working great - best working backstay system ever
- cross sheeting jib sheet - a joy
- traveller works very easy under pressure
- the KARVER winches - perfect choice
- nice ergonomics inside at heel
Adjustments
- Haylard size and clutches need fine adjustment - further sizes of spinlock inserts are coming this week and we change 2 halyard materials (technora covers)
- Tiller touches the mainsheet - we will shorten it by 80mm this week
- Rudder bearings are a bit rough - we are tweaking our machines and making new ones
- Mainsail sheet cleat angle - we add a wedge
- Halyard-deckhouse fittings could have less friction - we have an idea for a better through deck fitting
We will do the next tests as soon as possible.
